One of the ways to further the movement towards safe churches is to provide churches with the right tools. Veiligekerk.nl helps church leaders to include ordinary church members to play a meaningful role for all those involved in (sexual) abuse. They help churches to be a safe place by sharing knowledge, campaigns and providing materials for church leaders on the website. Through the campaigns of Veiligekerk.nl, the churches are encouraged to adopt an effective prevention policy.
The platform of Veiligekerk was developed by VDH Concepting on behalf of Tear and is managed by three Christian aid agencies that jointly form the editorial board Veiligekerk.nl.
Strategy
Visibility is crucial. Breaking the taboo of this subject and providing a place for churches requires openness.
That is why we made the website the focal point of this initiative.
Concept
Encourage churches and show that taking action is possible for any church. In the development of the concept, we emphasized the urgency of taking action as well as providing tools for taking action.
