Since the start of the civil war, 85,000 children in Yemen have died of starvation. Continuing violence and the lack of foreign aid put between four and five million children at risk of acute famine.

Tim, Lana and Rhodé, 3 young students of a primary school in The Netherlands saw a news clip about this famine in Yemen. They were shocked that other children’s lives could be so different than theirs.

VDH Concepting helped harness these 3 kids desire to help the children of Yemen by developing a program that would appeal to children and that could be multiplied by children.  VDHConcepting came up with the idea , #OneLove'. An initiative for children by children!

The #OneLove campaign galvanized children into making a red bracelet and selling it on. Wearing the bracelet represented commitment and solidarity to the situation of the most vulnerable. What started as a droplet turned into a waterfall, not only in terms of money raised but also in terms of the awareness of other’s plights.

After fundraising, we were able to partner with The Red Cross, who then used the monies raised in a highly targeted manner for food, clean drinking water and medicine in Yemen.
